CommuniCare Family of Companies, State Officials Recognize Anchorage Healthcare Center Heroes

Andrew Lunn and his coworkers saved a man who drove the river, their employer and community recognize their heroic efforts

Salisbury, MD (July 3, 2019) – CommuniCare Family of Companies cordially invites the media to attend the Caring Communities awards reception at Anchorage Healthcare Center. Along with executive leadership from CommuniCare, Senator Adelaide Eckardt and Delegate Sheree Sample-Hughes will be in attendance to recognize the group of gentlemen whose quick thinking and fearless action saved a driver who had accidentally driven into the Wicomico River in late June. The effort, led by a charge nurse at the Anchorage Healthcare Center, Andrew Lunn, will be recognized at an awards ceremony and cocktail hour at the skilled-nursing facility on July 9, 2019. Media and the community are invited to attend. 

In addition to Mr. Lunn, Joshua Mechalske, Greg Andrews, and Steven Price also assisted in the daring rescue. Each of these gentlemen will be presented with an award honoring their heroism and acknowledging their commitment to caring beyond their duties at the healthcare center.  

WHEN: Tuesday, July 9, 2019, from 4 to 6 p.m.

  4:30 p.m.: Awards ceremony
